On Monday, July 10, Bernhard Heinloth presented his research paper Luci: Loader-based Dynamic Software Updates for Off-the-shelf Shared Objects on the possibility of transparently updating program libraries at process runtime at the 2023 USENIX Annual Technical Conference (ATC23). In addition, Henriette Hofmeier from BOSS at RUB presented a poster with results from the NEON and PAVE projects regarding the evaluation of operating systems (Linux and FreeBSD) adapted to the special characteristics of non-volatile memory (NVRAM) at the 17th USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation (OSDI23), which was held jointly in Boston.
