Instead of research projects and lectures, an excursion of our chairs to Franconian Swiss was on the agenda at July 20, taking a kayak tour on the picturesque Wiesent river. Having best weather conditions and framed by a fascinating natural scenery, the trip went from Doos to Muggendorf – mostly on the water, but occasionally a bit deeper. This was probably also the reason why a small delegation preferred the land route to the Sachsenmühle beer garden, where a typical Franconian snack was served during the lunch break.
